~~Guardian of the Tube~~ Somewhat High Priestess of TV/Movie Trivia A.Y.E. <BG!>
I wanted to take this opportunity to say how much I am SADDENED by the recent death of Princess Diana!!! I GREATLY ADMIRED her for her class and compassion for the suffering people of the world!!! I prayed for her recovery when she was in the hospital, and I now pray for her sons, that they might have some comfort in the knowledge that so MANY people around the world share in their mourning!!! It's hard to know what to say at a time like this, so I'll close this section with the Brilliantly re-written song "Candle in the Wind" by Elton John:
"Goodbye England's rose, may you ever grow in our hearts. You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart. You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain. Now you belong to heaven, and the stars spell out your name. And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind: never fading with the sunset when the rain set in. And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills; your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will. Loveliness we've lost; these empty days without your smile. This torch we'll always carry for our nation's golden child. And even though we try, the truth brings us to tears; all our words cannot express the joy you brought us through the years. Goodbye England's rose, from a country lost without your soul, who'll miss the wings of your compassion more than you'll ever know."
To those who are interested, Elton John will be on Late Night with Conan O'Brian Thursday, Sept. 25(12:35am) along with Actress Annie Potts

Hello Fellow Xenites and Hercules fans!
These Tube Watch reports follow the stars and guest-stars of the 2 best shows on TV: Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: Legendary Journeys. There is A LOT of upcoming information of when they will be on TV, movies in the theaters, and otherwise. I try to fill these reports with trivia, spoilers, and more. I hope you enjoy and please feel free to write to me to let me know how you liked it or how I could improve. I welcome all feedback and hope you will write if there is anything missing or if I had any info wrong. Thanks!
Most of the <<spoilers>> either came from TV Guide Online, Click TV or a Cable movie guide and the Internet Movie Database. There is a what's on Xena/Herk section, various actors sections and other Herk and Xena related/linked topics, Convention section, Spy Game sections and will be at the bottom of this listing. Also, at the bottom of this listing(after my sig line) I have a little bit about the rewarding trip I took to Washington D.C. to help the homeless.
I got some letters saying, "Why don't you have this person or that person". When in fact I had researched them, but found no upcoming info. So to let you all know who I research, I have 2 paragraphs: one of those with sections of upcoming info and one of those without. If there is anyone that I don't have listed in either that you would like me to check into, let me know.

This week's Xena: Warrior Princess is a repeat of the episode "Comedy of Eros" <<Draco (Jay Laga'aia) is threatening to sell some temple maidens into slavery and Xena is trying to stop him. Trouble is, she's also falling in love with him. Meanwhile (and just as strange), Gabrielle is falling for Joxer (Ted Raimi). Cupid: Karl Urban. Bliss: Cameron Russel.>> Cupid's kid was SO CUTE!!! He stole some of his dad's arrows and caused some mayhem!!! I haven't read Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors in a long time, but BOY! They sure did do a good job in living up to the Shakespearean standard!!! Xena falls in love with Draco who's in love with Gabrielle who's in love with Joxer who's so happy to have someone FINALLY really love him that he loves her right back with no help. Boy! What a mess!!! But it is a GREAT ride!!! : )
Next week's Xena: Warrior Princess is the PREMERE of the episode "The Furies" <<Syndication's top-rated heroine returns for her third season---and promptly loses her mind. Xena's immortal enemy Ares (Kevin Smith), enlists the aid of the Furies for his latest assault. The three curse-enforcing goddesses declare that the Warrior Princess (Lucy Lawless) has committed "a terrible crime. She will be punished by persecution and madness." Just what is the "terrible crime"? Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) investigates and discovers that Xena had failed to avenge the murder of her father. That's certainly news to Xena: she didn't know that her father had been murdered, much less the identity of the killer. Cyrene: Darien Takle. Alecto: Asa Lindh.>> I'm SO EXCITED that the NEW episodes are starting Again!!! I CAN'T wait to see this!!!
Whoosh! has info on all past Xena eps. and upcoming!!! It can be found at: http://www.thirdstory.com/whoosh/epguide/index.html
This week's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is a repeat of the episode "Atlantis" <<Cassandra (Claudia Black) is most definitely a prophet without honor in her own land when she predicts that her island homeland Atlantis will be destroyed. Panthius: James Beaumont. Skirner: William Davis. Demitrius: Ross Harper. Aurelius:Norman Fairley.>> I haven't seen this one yet, but it looks like a REALLY GREAT episode with Special effects gallore!!!
Next week's Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is the PREMERE of the episode "Beanstalks & Bad Eggs" <<The fourth season begins with Our Hero (Kevin Sorbo) climbing a beanstalk on a playful, effects-filled adventure. Herc and his kleptomaniac pal Autolycus (Bruce Campbell) find a nasty giant named The fourth season begins with Our Hero (Kevin Typhoon (Glenn Shadix) and the kidnapped damsel Lianna (Kerry Gallagher) in a castle in the clouds. They also find three golden eggs, which hatch into mischievous, munchkinlike Harpies. But when Harpies mature, they're more than just mischievous, so Herc must find a way to keep them off the beanstalk and away from Earth. He and Autolycus must also instruct Typhoon about love. It turns out that he's not so nasty after all---and he likes Lianna, who has developed a grudging fondness for him.>> I CAN'T WAIT to see this!!! Bruce is SO GREAT as Autolycus!!! This is bound to be a GREAT and not to mention FUNNY episode!!!

"Male anchor: "Xena's Lucy Lawless hopes to conquer Grease this season, but she's already won over fans of her show. She gave us some sneak previews of some brand new episodes." "The New Zealand native is the latest star to tackle the role of Rizzo in the musical Grease. She took some time out to talk with us about the challenges of her new role and her devoted fans. She also gave us a little peek at what Xena will be up to in upcoming episodes.
[10 second clip of Lucy singing "Greased Lightning" in Grease, while sitting on top of car hood.] [Switch to 10-15 second clip of Xena fighting temple raiders in opening of Remember Nothing.] [Switch to Lucy's face in close-up, in interview.]
Lucy: "I'm having a really good time, really good time. This is hard, this is really hard work. An incredible amount of choreography in there and it's nerve-wracking, but this is very fulfilling and I am loving every terrifying minute of it. And, uh, New Yorkers have been incredibly supportive as well. They've given me so much I just want to, I just want to give it all back." [Switch to shot of Lucy signing autograpsh for fans outside Grease stage door.]
Lucy: "I think just women's groups generally, whether they're gay or not, uh, have taken Xena to their hearts." [Switch back to close-up of Lucy.]
Lucy: "These people, more than any other, the women of the Meow Mix, and other gay bars around town, lesbian bars, are responsible almost single-handedly for making our show hip." [Switch to Orphan of War opening, at Centaur totems.]
Lucy: "There's a schism coming up, a rift between the two friends, and, um, the audience is going to find themselves very challenged by the, um, some pretty dark episodes coming up. " [Switch to shot from Return of Callisto, riding chariots on beach.]
Lucy: "Somebody has a baby." [Switch back to close-up of Lucy.]
Lucy: "There are children involved and there are some very adult issues, a lot of, um, a lot of taboos are going to be touched upon and broken, and I hope our audience can hang in there. It's, uh, it's pretty adult fantasy fare." [Ends on clip from show's opening, Xena riding horse in front of troops. (Gauntlet?) And with news anchors reminding people that X:WP comes on regularly right before the Saturday news....]
Thanks to Dragon Lady for letting us know that: "LL is on page 91 in the Oct Glamour magazine. There's 2 photos (one small inset of her as Xena and the other is the same photo which was on the cover of Parade magazine). The article consists of 7 questions:
1. Is your 9 year old daughter Daisy aware that mom is a cult figure?
The impact of the show has been pretty major on the kids in New Zealand. At first Daisy was afraid that my program would flop and she'd be laughed at. When that didn't happen, she felt free to be proud of me.
2. What's the most unusual job you've ever had?
I worked for a gold mining company in the Australian outback. We dug the earth and took samples. The ratio of men to women was one in 50. I never saw any gold, but I did change a lot of tires.
3. You studied opera and are appearing on Broadway through October as Rizzo in the musical "Grease". Tell us about your passion for singing.
I sing when I'm happy, but for many years I stopped singing. That time's over. I take nothing for granted since I fractured my pelvis while performing a stunt on "The Tonight Show" last October.
4. How did it feel when you were asked to sing the national anthem at a Detroit Red Wings game--and your breast popped out of your shirt?
It was awful! It may have been my worst performance ever, and the networks wouldn't stop replaying it.
5. It wasn't as if you grabbed your crotch a la Roseanne.
No, it was a bloody accident.
6. Would you take your clothes off on camera?
I've been offered a lot of money to pose for Playboy. It holds no interest for me; nor will I do it in the movies. Lucy Lawless is a private person. I have a daughter and a partner, and I don't want to share my personal side with anyone else.
7. Do you think Xena and Gabrielle will share more intimate moments this season?
Not really. Just as there are no plans for Hercules and Xena to get together. Having said that, there are times to make a little innuendo, and we'll keep doing that.
Thanks to Zapper for posting Lucy's recent appearance on The Rosie O'Donnell show!!!
Rosie: Please welcome Lucy Lawless! (Lucy comes onstage) Rosie: They love you! Lucy: Yeay them! <?> Rosie: The people love you. Lucy: Well...(audience member): We love you Xena! Rosie: See? They love you.(audience cheers) Lucy: As if to prove it. <?> Rosie: First of all, congratulations on your Broadway debut. Lucy: Thank you very much! (audience cheers) Rosie: You're welcome. Grease at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. Lucy: Mm-hmm. Rosie: I understand that we played a small part in your getting the role. Lucy: Rosie cast me in, um, the show, I came on eight months ago, something, and, I sang a song, the producers happened to be watching, and you said you could do Broadway and I said, ho ho, you know, really do you think so, and um, and they were watching and, and, you know and, they made the offer and I just jumped at it. Rosie: And you're doing it for seven weeks. Lucy: I'm doing, just for seven weeks, that's all the time I have off. Rosie: Which is, which is, just the perfect amount of time because you won't get, into the routine. How was opening night for you? Lucy: Opening night was great I have no memory of it whatsoever except waking up the next morning with, like pillow face going, "oh my God you're..." (laughs) I have to play that episode all over again, you know, just, I'm used to a continual flow of new material and, and, always working under the gun, so, to do the same thing, uh, night after night is a real challenge, and now that I'm getting more comfortable it's a whole lot more fun. Rosie: Now, are you nervous with the singing? Lucy: Uhhh...singing I was nervous with at first, initially, dancing I was terrified of, now, my acting's gone to Hell you know and...(Rosie and audience laugh) Lucy: I'm thinking so much (pounds on lap comedically), I'm doing this that where I'm, now I'm starting to say things like fluff-flak <?>, and, (Porky Pig impression), I'm doing Porky Pig routines and going "oh my God I can't get the words out straight" but um, fortunately the audience is sort of um, hanging in there in fact, part of the reason I took the job was that it was kind of therapy for me you see I've been terrified to sing for about, ten years. Rosie: Really... Lucy: Yeah, and uh, so I took it and, you're all having to sit through my therapy thank you very much. (audience laughs) Rosie: Yes, but you're a very good singer I remember you from last time. Lucy: That was, because I was so relaxed, you know, but, for to stand me up, something in my throat just kinda closes up quite often often so, um, I didn't tell the producers that of course, that would have terrified them, and uh, and uh, here I am and I'm doing it I'm just loving it. Rosie: Well, I'm so happy for you I on the other hand cannot sing, a note on key, and I would sing loudly, and proudly anywhere I go and, the produ- it's funny when I auditioned the producers Fran Weisther, who is, the funny, (impersonating producer) darling, angel, who are you, no idea, I said oh I'd been in a couple movies, maybe you know, (again) darling, I've never heard of you, and basically, you don't sing well.(audience laughs) And, but thanks for getting me the part anyway, so, I had fun. Lucy: Yeah you're good. <?> Rosie: Oh has your daughter been to see you? Lucy: She hasn't, she, I'm missing her terribly, she's um, she's still in New Zealand... Rosie: She is... Lucy: And she's coming over in a coupla, uh, in a week, and uh, I just can't wait, you know, I'm, I'm l- I love the people I'm with I'm having, some of them are here today, and, um, but I've just got that, you know that aching for... Rosie: Yeah, she's, she's 9? Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: 9 years old? Lucy: Yeah and obsessed with, with Tamagotchi at the moment you know those little, these awful little (laughs) digital pet... Rosie: Oh, I know... Lucy: They keep dieing, they, doesn't matter how much attention they get, you know they, overfeed them, and overcare for them and these things keep carking it. Rosie: No, do you know how to do it? Do you know how to do it? Lucy: I did not know, I've had to set up these awful things time and time again, but uh, they won't just die and stay dead you know, you...(laughs) Rosie: They're horrible. My neice said to me, "I'm going to my friend Marissa's party, take care of it!" Lucy: Yeah! Rosie: The stress! You have to feed the thing and then, change the diaper, and it beeps, and ugh...and they sold millions of them. Lucy: Do you know though, the other day, I was sitting in, in, Central Park in a restaraunt, and there was a woman with a, ghastly little, matching poodle, matching her own hairdo, you know. Rosie: Yeah. Lucy: In, in her handbag, of course, later I get up to go to the looloo, and, I walk in, and, underneath a cubicle where you ought to see somebody's shoes is this little dog, doing his business on a nappy liner, and I (laughs) New York, you're outta hand! Rosie: You're not kiddin' we are outta hand here! Don't go away more Lucy Lawless after this break we'll be right back. (station break) Rosie: Back with Lucy Lawless, Xena, can you give me a little Xena yell? Lucy: Ayiyiyiyi! You've got...(audience cheers) Rosie: Yeah, we have it, here it is.(A tape is played of a Xena yell) Lucy: Perfect pitch, listen to that. Rosie: Here we go do it again.(The tape is played again and Lucy joins in) Rosie: Lemme try. Lucy: Oh, stereo! Rosie: Where'd you get it? Where'd you get that? Lucy: Uhhh...Rob Tapert, our Producer, and, my partner, you know, um.... Rosie: In life? Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: Oh, your boyfriend! Lucy: Yeah, my boyfriend! Uh, he actually, they were looking for he was looking for some sort of a gimmick like, a Tarzan, call or something, and, uh, the Arabic women do, make, a similar noise. They ululate, all over the place everytime they protest or there's a funeral or they're happy you know, I dunno it's a multi=purpose cry. Rosie: Really? I never heard of that. Lucy: Yeah. And I couldn't quite do it so I bastardized it and made it, made it my own and, just exploited the Hell out of it. Rosie: Ubluhbluhbluhbluhbluhbluh!(audience laughs) Lucy: You got it! Rosie: But you don't use your tongue like that you just uhluhluhluhluh. Do it again. Lucy: Ayiyiyi! Rosie: Oh you see but you keep your tongue in your mouth. Uhriririri!(audience laughs) Lucy: Very pretty. Rosie: Thank you. Rururururururu!(audience cheers) Rosie: Alright now since you brought this up... Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: Was he your boyfriend before he was the Producer or, he was, just working together you... Lucy: Uh, just working together. Rosie: Alright, I don't wanna pry I just, was curious it was going through my head while I was doing the yell. Lucy: Yeah. Oh it's no secret. Rosie: You're on in 80 countries. Lucy: How bout that? Rosie: Hard to believe. Lucy: I'm on in Saudi Arabia. Rosie: Saudi Arabia?(audience cheers) Lucy: Yeah. I had uh, a friend came back from uh, doing some oil, rig gig, in, in, Saudi Arabia and they had seen Xena, but, all the action scenes have to be blown up, they're huge grainy close-ups so they don't show any cleavage or leg. And uh, I don't know how they manage it . But uh, it's a big hit in Saudi Arabia. Rosie: Really...alililililili!(audience laughs and cheers) Lucy: Yeah. And like that's probably what it is it's just the sound you know. <?> Rosie: It's the yell, they go, she's one of us! Blilili!(audience laughs) Rosie: Well how long, um, you're gonna do that show for years I suppose, it's so popular. Lucy: For, for a few years, yeah. Rosie: For a few years, yeah. Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: You gonna do anymore musicals, you think? Lucy: Ehehehehe!(audience laughs) Lucy: Well uh, if they'll, if they'll have me back we'll see I don't know that um, I could do something for, a, a year I know that you did it for a year... Rosie: Did it for a year. Lucy: It's, and it's incredibly hard work too I thought, it can't be any harder than, than the work I do, everyday and, and, it is extremely strenuous in a different way. Rosie: It is. And you only have one day off a week and it's very tiring. Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: Have you gotten to see any, any of the shows or, with your schedule you really, don't have time... Lucy: I saw Chicago yesterday that's amazing. <?> Rosie: Isn't that amazing? Lucy: God... Rosie: And Mariel Henner is in it now. Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: Brilliant, isn't she a great dancer? Lucy: Mm-hmm. Rosie: She is. Surprising? <?> Lucy: Yeah and, and Bebe Newearth is, a dancing machine. Rosie: She is. It's a great show have you seen (actress' name I can't make out)? <?> Lucy: Yeah but she's like Betty Boop on steroids, you know (laughs) Rosie: I love the way you say that, Betty Boop. Lucy: Betty Boop. Rosie: Betty Boop on steroids. Lucy: Yeah. Rosie: Yeah. Lucy: George...<?> Rosie: She's, she's really wonderful, have did you seen Titantic yet?? Lucy: I haven't. Is that good? Rosie: I loved it. Lucy: Yeah, ok that's another one to see before... Rosie: Really good Christo-...did you see Reds? <?> Lucy: Not yet. Rosie: (singing) Five-hundred-sixty-five-thousand-three-hundred-miiiinutes. How do you measure, a keh-mercial break.(audience laughs) Say we'll be right back after this. Lucy: We'll be right back, after......this. (station break) Rosie: Hey go see Lucy Lawless on Broadway in Grease. How Luce, who's on tommorow? Lucy: Ahhh, Barbara Walters! Rosie: Kimberly Williams. Lucy: And Cynthia Cooper. Rosie: Exactly. Hit the target Xena. Buh-bye! (Lucy aims some sort of Nerf bow-and-arrow thing at an off-screen target)

Thanks to Whomever put this on the mailing lists!!! (Sorry, I lost the name as I like to give credit where credit's due):
By MARK KENNEDY, The Associated Press: NEW YORK (Sept. 5) - Kevin Sorbo is a god. Or at least his fans think so. "Hey! Hey, Hercules," the actor recalls one middle-aged groupie yelling out as Sorbo strolled through Manhattan. "Yo, come over here and say hello to my wife." Being mistaken for a Greek god is an occupational hazard for 38-year-old Sorbo, whose long locks and sculpted chest have become mandatory eye-candy for millions of fans in 65 countries. This month may prove to be his most heroic. Sorbo signed a contract extension to star in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys through the next century. And he made his feature debut as "Kull: The Conqueror." Billed as a prequel to Arnold Schwarzenegger's Conan movies, Sorbo's Kull is more pulpy - a camp barbarian who favors flaming swords, curvaceous sorceresses and a rock 'n' roll soundtrack. And, unlike Conan, Kull keeps the laughs rolling and gore to a minimum. "We kept it family light," says the mild-mannered Sorbo. "Kull is Conan Lite."
As for his role as TV's favorite bare-chested hunk, Sorbo, grinning wildly, theorizes: "Herc is a guy that I think people want to hang out with. He's a cool guy, he's a fun guy, but you can't be like him. He's a half-god, he's the strongest guy in the world." Sorbo points to the show's weekly moral to explain its wild popularity: "Whether it's racism or whether it's finishing your homework, there's something to learn," says the 6-foot-3-inch, 215-pound muscleman. "I even get letters from teachers across the country saying they're studying mythology again." Now, that's pretty heroic.
Do you fear being labeled grade-A beefcake forever?
Sorbo: Well, I was actually surprised how much my shirt is off in this film. You know, because over a three-month period you only shoot one or two pages a day, and you're so into it that you kind of lose track. Sure, Hercules is kind of beefcakey, but it's more like Herc in the Land of Cleavage. The eye-candy is more for the men. On `Herc,' on purpose, I take my shirt off once every seven or eight episodes. I don't do it that often. The producers want to have more, but I say no. Let Dean Cain on Superman (`'Lois & Clark'`) do that!
Did you have any idea "Hercules" would get so big?
Sorbo: You can't gauge it. C'mon, if we did this 10 years ago, maybe it wouldn't have worked. The timing was just right. My gut feeling was that this was going to become a series but did I think it would get as big as it did? Not really, but I'm not overly surprised because I think it's a fun show...It's simple dialogue, it translates well into other countries, you can sell it to Japan, you can sell it to Germany. Did you hear that `Seinfeld' got canceled in Germany? We're No. 1. Obviously, we're very huge in Greece and Italy. Hello? It's mythology, you know. They absolutely love it.
So you've got a cult classic on your hands, haven't you?
Sorbo: Oh, no question. There's no doubt in my mind that 30 years from now, people will be still be watching this at 11 o'clock, right before they go to bed, like I did with `'Star Trek.'` I mean, they have conventions now all across the country. People dress up, they fly in from Europe. It's just insane. They just go nuts. They're so hard-core.
OK. But who wins in a street fight, Xena the Warrior Princess or Herc?
Sorbo: That's a funny question for people to ask, I think. To me, there's no battle. I mean, she's a tough warrior, but Hercules is the strongest person in the world. He's half-god; she's mortal. I did fight her in one show. I threw her down and put a knife to her throat. She finally said, `OK, you're the greatest warrior.' I told her to cool her jets.
What about Kull versus Herc?
Sorbo: That would be a good battle. Hmm. I'm going to go with Kull, because he's a tough guy. Hey, he's a barbarian. This guy grew up in the wild with wolves. I mean, he's an animal. But it would be a good fight. That one I'd like to see.
What about that other TV star who uses a sword, the Highlander?
Sorbo: Oh, I'd beat him silly. I'd lop his head off.

From the Aug.30-Sept.5 TV Guide, on pg.33 on Touched by an Angel, "Having been a major fan of Highway to Heaven, I was curious to see what this program would do with the concept of divine intervention. I was partially pleased, and partially disappointed. The plot of the episode I watched revolved around inner-city gang life, highlighting the lack of intact families as well as the allure and easy money of such a life. I thought this was an honest and accurate portrayal of real problems, unique in this politically correct social environment which tends to look away from the true source of problems, thereby crippling the ability of those with the problems to take control and make a difference for themselves and others. I appreciated that the focus was on personal responsibility, obligation to others, and a connection to God which gives ultimate meaning and direction for all our actions. I thought this message was compromised, however, by two devices: one, that the angles identified themselves as such, and two, they preformed miracles (like candy appearing under a pillow and Star Trek-style materializations). I think this weakens the message of faith and the courage of personal struggle by stacking the deck and diminishing choice. Nonetheless, Touched dares to deal with the holy and the human; I appreciated its efforts toward reminding us that heaven on earth is our making."

He was also in 2 Herk movies: Hercules in the Underworld as Hades and Hercules and the Circle of Fire as Prometheus! In the movie The Rainbow Warrior he plays Det. Neil Morris! I watched this movie again recently and couldn't help but notice him! He actually questioned Lucy about the bombing. : )
Karen Witter was GREAT as the original Nemisis in H:LJ's "Pride Goeth Before a Brawl!!! Karen plays "1st Young Woman" in the movie Prince of Bel Air shown on PLEX on Sept. 22(1:48pm, 7:19pm). Also starring Mark Harmon, Kirstie Alley. <<A womanizing pool serviceman gives monogamy a try when he becomes involved with an artist. Made for TV.>>

Premise: The year is 2007, and the secret science of time travel has fallen into the hands of evildoers intent on changing the course of history. Fortunately for humankind, the Jean-Claude Van Damme moive "Timecop" has spun off this TV series, which stars a buff cop (King) and his buddies as the Time Enforcement Commission, working to keep these quantum creeps in the here and now. They Say: "We took the sicence-fiction concept of time travel and turned it into a cop show," says executive producer Bob Singer, whose credits include Midnight Caller and Lois & Clark. "We really would like it to be a good ride. It would be nice if we could get some of that Monday Night Footbal crowd." We Say: Timecop might be a natural for the football crowd, but without a pilot available at press time, who really knows if viewers are ready to face Armageddon on Monday nights? This show may well have a happy future, but unlike its time-traveling hero, we just can't go there to find out what it is

Thanks to TRIFC maintenance for sending me the URL: http://www.stgenesis.org/~inga/TedRaimi/tedfaq.html This site is a GREAT place to go if you have a question about Ted! Mine was:
12.What, pray tell, is a Shemp? A more detailed explanation is available in Raimi-Zine #2. Simply put, "Shemp" is Sam Raimi's term for an extra. There were a dozen actors listed as "Fake Shemp" in the Evil Dead (several of them co-incidentally with the last names of Raimi and Tapert). Josh Becker also credited Shemps in his recent flick Running Time (starring Bruce Campbell). The term dates back to The Three Stooges (if you've seen any of Sam's work, it's fairly obvious that he idolizes these guys) when several Stooge shorts were completed when Shemp was out of commission due to a heart attack using substitute actors with their faces obscured.
Ted will be at an Upcoming Creation Con. I GOT MY TICKET AND IT'S IN THE FRONT ROW!!! I CAN'T wait to meet Ted and Renee!!! See bottom section for convention details. A GREAT web site to find out more info on Ted is: http://www.stgenesis.org/~inga/TedRaimi/ Visit Rogue's Ted page at: http://www.icomnet.com/~rogue/rogue.html

Cory Everson is GREAT as Atlanta on H:LJ! Apparently she is very big in the body building competition scene(no pun intended). Among other titles she has won, she was a 6 time winner of Ms. Olympia from `84-'89. Every Monday-Friday morning at 7AM and 11AM on ESPN2, the show Gotta Sweat is <<Gym fitness, free-weight training and aerobics with Cory Everson>> Cory has her own personal web site devoted to personal fitness! If you check out the "Cory In Action" section, you'll see a GREAT picture of Cory arm wrestling Hercules and another picture of her as Atalanta! Check the Home page out at: http://www.coryeverson.com/
Cory plays TV Mallory in the movie Natural Born Killers shown on Cinnemax on Sept. 29(1:10am). Also starring Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey Jr. <<Oliver Stone directed and co-wrote this satirical look at contemporary society's fascination with mass murders and their glorification by the media.>>
Cory is also a very TALENTED artist!!! If you would like to view Cory's artwork and possibly buy it, please visit Athlete & Artist at: http://www.athlete-artist.com
A site devoted to her modeling/body building is at: http://www.solace.mh.se/~alpha/ceg/ceg.htm
Tony Todd was really GREAT as Cecrops on the X:WP ep. "Lost Mariner" and also as Gladius on the H:LJ ep. "Gladiator"!!! Tony plays Sherwood in the movie Sabotage shown on Cinemax on Sept. 27(10pm), on MAX2 on Sept. 30(1:15PM). <<Trained in the martial arts, a bodyguard hunts down his employer's killers-only to become ensnared in a deadly war between the FBI, CIA and a terrorist group.>> <<A bodyguard uses his Navy commando training to track the killers of an arms dealer he was hired to protect.>>
Tony plays Kurn in a Star Trek: The Next Generation ep. "Sins of the Father" shown on WBNE(WB affiliate) on Sept. 30(7pm). <<Worf meets the brother (Tony Todd) he didn't know he had, and together they go before the Klingon High Council to defend their late father's honor against treason charges. Worf: Michael Dorn.>>
Thanks to Bon for telling us: "In the double sized issue of Cinefantastique (October Vol 29 Number 4/5) there is a decent 1.5 column article talking about Tony Todd and his past rolls in such films as Candyman (I knew he looked familiar) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and His CURRENT PROJECT Wes Cravens WISHMASTER. Only one sentence mentions his having had TV rolls in such shows as Deep Space Nine, Hercules, and of course Xena."
Tony plays Johnny Valentine in the movie Wishmaster which is out in theaters Now!!! Also stars Robert Englund(Freddy Krueger) http://www.wishmaster.com/
I couldn't find any favorable reviews of the film. I personally won't be seeing it where I don't like Horror movies, but if you liked the movie, let me know and I'll print an opposing view, but for now, here is a clip of a review Wishmaster (1997) reviewed by Peter Stack, San Francisco Chronicle Staff Critic; found at: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/chronicle/article.cgi?file=DD24433.DTL&directory=/chronicle/archive/1997/09/20 The title is: "Gory 'Wishmaster' Is a Screaming Bore" "The Djinn (Andrew Divoff) is on a mission to make people want things, so he can grant their wishes. One woman, for example, wishes to be beautiful forever, so he turns her into a mannequin. He laughs deeply and meanly. That gets very tedious after seven dozen people are granted wishes amid sucking sounds and a few vats of blood."
I'm not sure if this info is outdated or not, but in his IMDB bio it says "Tony Todd is (1997) Appears at Hasty Pudding Theater, Cambridge MA, in Cry Me a River". If you know where this theater is, it might be worth looking into!!!
Robert Trebor is so GREAT as Salmoneus!!! I first saw and truly liked Robert as Walin in Hercules and the Lost Kingdom!!!
Robert plays Buddy in the movie The Nutty Nut shown on TMC(The Movie Channel) on Sept. 29(6:30AM). <<A man escapes a mental institution to find his twin brother who is running for office.>> This is kind of a crazy movie that is similar to Jim Carey's The Mask. It is pretty funny in places and it was FUN see Robert in a different role! Bruce Campbell wrote the story for this movie under the name Roc Sandstorm!
Palindrome Pals: The Official International Robert Trebor Fan Club is found at: http://www.cyberramp.net/~lnmorris They say that " Topps Comics has released its XENA Warrior Princess 1st Issue which is 1 of 2 issues and features part one of Bob's story "Theft Of The Young Lovelies." Part two continues in XENA #2. This first issue of XENA also has two alternate covers. Check it out!"
Robert will be at some upcoming Creation Cons, see the bottom section of this listing for details. A truely funny website devoted to the character Salmoneous can be found at: http://cctr.umkc.edu/user/salbert/salmoneus.html Another Robert Trebor/Salmoneus web site is at: http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/4965/page4.html

TOPLESS WOMEN TALK ABOUT THEIR LIVES is a New movie coming from New Zealand and it stars MANY X:WP actors!!! You can see some pictures from this movie at Danielle Cormack's site listed in this section!!! According to Bret Rudnick, "I doubt it will be widely released, but you might be lucky to see it at some local artsy theatre if you're near a big metropolitan area. And it will more than likely be on video one of these days soon, if it isn't already."
Willa O'Neil is GREAT as Lila, Gabrielle's sister on X:WP and as Phoebe of the Argonauts on H:LJ!!! She plays Prue in the New Zealand movie!!!
Ian Hughes was GREAT as Melas, the mournful father who wanted Callisto Dead in the XWP ep. "Callisto" and as Diomedes, the second in charge in the XWP ep. "The Black Wolf"!!! He plays Ant in the movie!!!
Andrew Binns was GREAT as Hippocrates in the X:WP ep. "Is There A Doctor In The House?"!!!! He plays Geoff in the movie!!!
Joel Tobeck plays Strife on H:LJ and he's also in the movie Peach with Lucy Lawless in which he played the jerk boyfriend Mog!!! He plays Neil in the movie!!!
Danielle Cormack is REALLY GREAT on X:WP as the Amazon Ephiny!!! She also did a GREAT job as the Charteuse Fox on H:LJ!!! She plays Liz in the movie!!!
From the IMDB: "The plot of the movie Topless Women Talk About Their Lives is: Liz(Danielle Cormack /Ephiny+Fox) has missed an appointment to have an abortion. She has to keep her child, and neither her boyfriend Geoff(Andrew Binns /Hippocrates) nor child's father Neil(Joel Tobeck /Strife) are too happy about it. She can not decide which partner is better for her, and Neil makes a proposal to her when they attend the wedding of her best friend Prue(Willa O'Neill /Lila+Phoebe) and Mike. She probably prefers Geoff, but he is preoccupied with his girlfriend Bryony, who returned from abroad. Another friend, Ant(Ian Hughes /Diomedes+Melas) has written a script for documentary film, which is directed by a German and in which topless women, well, talk about their lives.
Joel Tobeck also plays Lance in the movie Shrimp on the Barbie shown on Showtime 2 on Sept. 27(12:30PM).<<A down-on-his-luck American in Australia agrees to masquerade as an heiress' fiance in exchange for $5,000 to save his faltering restaurant.>> Also in this movie is Cheech Marin and Emma Samms. I saw this movie sometime ago and from what I can remember, it was pretty funny!
Danielle Cormack will be appearing as Ephiny in the Upcoming X:WP ep. "Maternal Instincts"!!! She will also be appearing in a brief scene as Ephiny in an Upcoming H:LJ episode!!! She is also going to be in the Upcoming Universal spin-off Amazon High!!! This in from Bret Rudnick: "AMAZON HIGH began production on Sept. 8, and will continue until the middle of October. We *can* say that this is pre-Xenaverse in the timeline. Oh, and Karl Urban has a minor role in it as well. He plays a cannibal. Karl Urban is the Truly gifted actor that plays Cupid on H:LJ and X:WP!!! He has also played Mael in X:WP's "Altared States" and Julius Caesar in X:WP's "Destiny". In the Universal Chat Rob Tapert said that we would see more of Caesar in a future episode!!! I Can't wait!!! I have received MANY letters asking me to add a section for him, but I don't have too much upcoming info on him where he was only in 1 movie. : ) But, this isn't stopping me from starting a section at least you can have links and if I find anything I'll regularly add it. : )
Thanks to Bret Rudnick who let me know that "Karl Urban has a minor role in Amazon High as well. He plays a cannibal." This is GREAT news!!!
You can check out Karl's Bio at: http://warriorcon.technomancer.com/guests.html! Here's most of it: "For the role of Cupid, Karl undergoes a makeup transformation that takes from one to two hours to complete. A native of Wellington, New Zealand, Karl felt the pull of acting at an early age. His first role was at the tender age of 8, where he spoke his first line on a television show. Rather than pursue a career, Karl finished his high school education without acting again. As he was preparing to attend Victoria University, he was offered a role in the New Zealand drama, Shortland Street. After filming the drama, he attended the university for one year, then left to pursue his acting career. He landed a number of roles in the theater in Wellington. He moved to Auckland, where a number of guest roles in New Zealand television followed. One of his first roles was that of a heroin addict in the drama Shock in the Park. He was in a movie as well, entitled Once in Chunuck Bay. Other television roles followed including a guest-starring role in the series White Fang. Most of his life, Karl has been very active. He worked on his aunt and uncle's farm for many years, doing odd jobs from shearing sheep to pig wrestling. Karl is quite proficient in horseback riding, a skill that served him well when he filmed a show called Riding High, a children's show about horses. In addition, Karl also enjoys surfing and indoor rock climbing. Currently, Karl, who is single and has no children, lives in Auckland. In addition to his appearances on Herc and Xena, Karl has recently filmed a movie in New Zealand called Heaven. Karl played the role of a strip club doorman/bouncer called The Sweeper. This film will be released by Miramax later this year or early next year." GREAT NEWS for us fans!!!

Susan Ward was GREAT as Psyche, wife of Cupid in the Hercules episode "Green Eyed Monster"! She plays Meg Cummings on the soap opera Sunset Beach every weekday at noon on NBC. From the Sept.13-19 TV Guide, pg. 158, Soap Opera Guide, "Ben followed Annie's post-hypnotic suggestion and called Meg "Maria," prompting Meg to accept Tim's invitation to return to Kansas. Hudson Leick: Fellow Xenite 1st Fire was truly lucky! and was able to interview Hudson At the Sacramento convention. You will be able to read the transcript of the complete inverview with Hudson in the next issue of the Hudson Leick Newsletter which she notified me that it is now up at Wesser's Hudson Leick Official Fan Club web site at: http://www.hudsonleickfan.com
Hudson played Hannah in the 1994 Action Pack movie KnightRider 2010 which was a sequel to the 1982 David Hasselhoff series. In an attempt to continue the series in a NEW light_Universal is coming out with a show called Team Knight Rider. From the Sept.13-19 TV Guide, pg. 77, "Inspired By: Knight Rider ('82-'88); Concept: 21 Jump Street meets My Mother the Car; Characters: Hot twenty-somethings who listen to their cars. If you've missed anything that Hudson starred in, or have a lot of copies of Hudson's TV shows/Movies: think about helping other Hudson fans at Kevin Saput's Hudson Leick Video Exchange at: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Set/7006/ I'm listed here, but please know that I am backlogged by requests, so it might take me awhile, but am willing to help out when I can. : )
This in also from 1st Fire: "On behalf of Hudson, she has asked that I please relay the following information. Hudson wishes to thank all her fans for the support and enthusiasm that they have shown her in recent months. Hudson has asked that anyone who has *NOT* yet written to her requesting a photo, PLEASE HOLD OFF doing so. It seems that she has had so *many* photo requests in the last couple of months that she has quite honestly, completely, run out of pictures. She says that she does have a few photos left that she will be sending out in the next few days, but since Creation now owns the rights to all "Callisto" pictures, and they are selling them, that she may not be able to get anymore "freebies" at this time. She apologizes to those people who have already sent a self addressed stamped envelope requesting a picture, but she just had no idea that there would be this many photo requests. (we could have told her, huh?)
The good news is that new exclusive personalized photos of Hudson will be made available through the fan club for a reasonable price in the very near future. These pictures will be of Hudson and *not* of "Callisto" so we can get as many as we want. : ) I will let everyone know the details as soon as I know. Hudson is currently very busy but she wants everyone to know that she is very excited and looking forward to forming a closer association with her Official Fan Club and Official Fan Club Web Site.
If you are not already a fan club member, and would like to join the Hudson Leick Official Fan Club, as well as be kept up to date on all the latest "Hudson news", please visit the new Hudson Leick Official Fan Club Web Site listed above.
Also, there has been some questions regarding how many Xena/Hercules episodes Hudson will be in next year. Hudson says that she taped one episode of Xena in June and is scheduled to go back to New Zealand for a second episode in November. No Hercules episodes are planned at this time. (bummer...I think we should do something about that...hahaha) Concerning the second "Callisto" episode, to air on Xena this coming up season, Hudson says, "You can dance to it"! : ) (sorry, that's all I could get out of her)
I also noticed that there has been some questions about Hudson Leick Official Fan Club membership packages. These are in the works as I type and will include an exclusive personalized photo of Hudson, a biography, filmography and a "classy" membership certificate. These packages will be an *optional* purchase to those people already belonging to the fan club (via the Internet) and available to both Internet and non-Internet fans. Again, I will let everyone know just as soon as they become available.
Hudson is again asking that if you have not changed over to her new mailing address to please do so asap. The new mailing address is:
Hudson Leick Official Fan Club P.O. Box 775 Fair Oaks, CA 95628
Also, it has come to Hudson's attention that there has been some speculation about whether, or not, she had done a "Bar None" commercial. Yes, she has! (and was extremely surprised that anyone had even noticed) She says that she has also done a coffee commercial. (she doesn't drink coffee, so she can't remember which brand it was) A Dr. Pepper commercial. And a commercial for an Italian named hair care product, (neither of us could figure out how to spell it, sorry) when she was just 16. The hair care commercial was only shown locally, in the N.Y. area, but if *anyone* can find a copy of any of these commercials Hudson would *really* like to see them. Please let me know. Thanks...
If you have any questions please write email me. Debbie-1st Fire<firstname.lastname@example.org> Hudson Leick Official Fan Club Liaison

From the Sept.13-19 TV Guide, pg.138, "Jim Henson's Greek Myths (HBO, November 3 at 7:30 P.M.) One of the Muppet master's final projects was this four-part dramatization of Hellenic legends." Also, thanks to Titanium for letting us know that: Disney released a playstation Hercules game based on the movie and Lucasarts is also putting one out.
Xena and Hercules the Animated Movie is due out on video in January!!! Read more about it at the end of Sept. 7th Update.
A GREAT site to check for fan clubs, conventions, and merchandise updates is at the Creation site: http://www.primenet.com/~outback/ MANY stars from both shows are scheduled at various Creation Conventions! I'm EXCITED that I'm going to be able to meet Renee and Ted at the Oct. 5 Con. in Valley Forge PA!!! But, I'm also very SORRY that I'm missing out on meeting Hudson and Robert the day earlier!!!
This in from Sharon(Creation): Videotaping and audiotaping at the conventions is not allowed as per the actors' request. Still photography is allowed.
Thanks to Sarah who told me: The remaining 4 eps of SG will not be seen(from what I can tell, The Practice is going to be taking our time slot).
At the Universal Chat with Rob: choco123 asks "What are the chances that Spy Game will be renewed for a 2nd season?" Rob_Tapert says "About as good as American Gothic coming back. I'd like to say that Spy Game is another example of a show being on the wrong network. ABC has done nothing to promote Spy Game."
Linden Ashby played Spy Game ex-agent Lorne Cash, he will be a new doctor in the first new fall episode of Melrose Place! I saw a piece on it on Access Hollywood on June 25. He has somewhat of a new look with blonde hair. I almost wouldn't have recognized him. I guess with this piece of news, it is truly official that Spy Game is no more. Thanks to Sarah for this info: Linden will be playing Dr. Brett "Coop" Cooper and will befriend Michael Mancini. I thought that he was honestly going to reprise his role as Charles Reynolds, Jo's ex-hubby.
From the Sept.6-12, TV Guide, pg.42, "Melrose Place, Starts: September 8, The Big News: Yes, Sydney (Laura Leighton) did die in the fiery car crash in front of the church on her wedding day. Also killed, the man responsible for the crash, Samantha's (Brooke Langton) father. Devastated groom Craig (David Charvet) holds Samantha personally responsible for the death of his bride. Who's Out: Leighton, Courtney Thorne-smith, and Grant show are already gone, and in the season's opener, a career turn for Matt sends Doug Savant packing as well. Who's In: Dr. Brett Cooper (Spy Game's Linden Ashby) joins the hospital staff; his ex-wife, Lexie (Savannah's Jamie Luner), follows him to L.A. to settle some postmarital money squabbles. Love Triangles & Quadrangles: Amanda (Heather Locklear) and Kyle (Rob Estes) finally sizzle on-screen. Taylor (Lisa Rinna) survives an attempt on her life made by Peter (Jack Wagner); after an announcement about a baby on the way and a little blackmail, the unhappy couple ties the knot. But Lexie sets her sights on Peter. Meanwhile, Dr. Copper takes a shine to Megan (Kelly Rutherford). Megan moves out on Michale (Thomas Calabro) and in with his kid sister, Jennifer (Alyssa Milano), who has her eye on the bereaved Craig. Got that? Love & Marriage: Billy (Andrew Shue) and Samantha weather the crash after-math together and plan a November wedding, which executive producer Frank South describes as "action-packed." Even after the wedding, the couple is in for some rocky times when an old friend of Sam's (Megan Ward) comes for a visit and Samantha's new job adds complications. Change of Scene: Shooters is gone, and so is D&D Advertising. The new Hangout is Upstairs, a jazz club owned by Kyle and Amanda. The ex-staffers from D&D work at Craig's new firm, Sky High.
Allison Smith played Spy Game spy expert Max London, she was in the movie Jerry Maguire, but it is rumored that her entire part was cut out. In any case, the movie is now on Pay Per View, stars Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr., Renee Zellweger. <<When a successful sports agent has a midnight realization that it's people not money that count in this world, he is promptly fired and left to rebuild his professional and personal life with the only two people who believe in him.>> REQ1/PPV1: Sept. 23(12pm, 4:30pm, 9pm), 22(2:30am); REQ4/PPV4: 22(1am, 3:30am), 26(7:30am, 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm, 5:30pm, 8pm, 10:30pm), 27(1am, 3:30am), 29(7:30am, 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm, 5:30pm, 8pm, 10:30pm), 30(1am, 3:30am).

I wanted to tell you all a little bit about the trip I took to Washington D.C. It was through the Service Station Organization. If you have a youth group that would be interested in doing a service project, find out some info at: http://www.servicestation.org/
In D.C. we did A LOT of different things every day to help a variety of people. The main focus was to help the homeless, but we also helped at a Day Camp for kids and picked up trash along a creek/park area. We worked at a Food Bank, Soup Kitchen, and passed out sack lunches to the homeless in the park near the White House. We did A LOT during the week that we were there and you could personally see the results of the hard work that you did. It was a very rewarding experience, one in which I would like to do again!
I would like to say Hi to: Jennie, Jenny, Melissa, Robin, Celio, Dee, Ruth, Karen, Jillian, Debbie, Michelle, and Pastor Brian whom I truly enjoyed getting to know much better over the week!
