Xena & Hercules Path to Adventure Contest Slated to Begin July 24th
July 21, 1998 (Renton, Wash.)--Industry leader Wizards of the Coast, Inc., announced today that it will launch the Path to Adventure online contest starting July 24, 1998. Hercules and Xena fans can test their strategy skills and knowledge of the popular _ARC System_ (TM) trading card games _Hercules: Legendary Journeys_ (TM) and _Xena: Warrior Princess_ (TM) to win a trip for two to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Challenged by the mischievous goddess Aphrodite from the top-rated Xena and Hercules television shows, participants can enter the Path to Adventure contest by visiting the _Wizards of the Coast_ (R) website at: http://www.wizards.com/Hercules/
The online challenge is an interactive test that navigates players through four individual Xena and Hercules tests. Upon completion of each test, participants are entered in a drawing to win a number of prizes, including the grand prize of a weekend trip for two to Universal Studios to experience the Hercules and Xena: Wizards of the Screen Live-Action Event. The Path to Adventure contest ends August 28, 1998.
Xena: Warrior Princess, the second ARC System release, and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which is scheduled to be released this month, are successive releases to _C*23_ (TM), the initial product in the ARC System group of games. Featuring scenes and colorful quotations from the popular _Xena_ and _Hercules_ television series, both games introduce novice gaming enthusiasts to the dynamic world of trading card games. _Hercules: The Legendary Journeys_(TM) TCG Newest Release from Wizards of the Coast
July 21, 1998 (Renton, Wash.)--Battle forges on in an Olympic world of villainous gods and supernatural creatures as gaming enthusiasts discover the amazing powers of television super hero Hercules in the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys trading card game (TCG). The third release in the _ARC System_(TM) game line from adventure games master Wizards of the Coast Inc., the Hercules TCG will be available in July.
Featuring Hercules and his trusting companion Iolaus, along with many other popular characters from one of the top-rated action hour in syndication, the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys TCG showcases more than 180 cards with scenes and quotations from the show. Additionally, an exclusive promotional two-sided Hercules and Iolaus character card will be included in each deck display box. Designed for new trading card game enthusiasts, the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys game is quick to learn and can be played in 10 to 15 minutes.
According to Paul Randles, associate brand manager, "Novice trading card game players can enjoy the variety of worlds offered in the ARC System line, including the Hercules, _Xena: Warrior Princess_(TM) and _C*23_(TM) themes, while experiencing the fun, excitement and strategy found in TCGs."
Fans can now pit their Hercules decks against Xena or C*23 decks, the first releases in the ARC System trading card games. Xena Explodes into Battle with Launch of Xena: Warrior Princess Trading Card Game
April 15, 1998 (Renton, Wash.)-Gaming enthusiasts and Xena fans can enter the mythological domain of ancient gods and barbaric warlords in the action-packed Xena: Warrior Princess_ trading card game (TCG), available in May from adventure games leader Wizards of the Coast Inc.
The Xena: Warrior Princess TCG brings to life the adventures of Xena, her sidekick Gabrielle and other popular characters from the top-rated television show, as they find themselves caught up in a duel for supremacy between good and evil. The Xena TCG contains 180 cards featuring scenes from the show, many enhanced by colorful quotations.
A quick-to-learn game of strategy, the Xena TCG can be played in 10-15 minutes. Competitors face off in battle where one player prevails by emptying his or her opponent's deck of cards. According to Paul Randles, Xena associate brand manager, "In Xena, players challenge their rival with a powerful deck of mythological forces. The fun is in putting the characters into action to defeat your opponent and gain control of ancient lands."
